Myofascial Release & Cupping Therapy – Gentle Pain Relief at Home

At A Choice Home Health Care, we provide evidence-based, non-invasive pain management therapies to help patients recover safely and comfortably in their own homes. Two of the specialized techniques we offer are Myofascial Release and Cupping Therapy, both performed by trained and licensed clinicians under physician-directed care, in accordance with CMS and CHAP guidelines.

What is Myofascial Release?

The fascia is a thin layer of connective tissue that surrounds muscles, bones, and organs. After illness, injury, or surgery, this tissue can become tight, restricted, or painful.

Myofascial Release (MFR) is a gentle, hands-on therapy where the clinician applies light, sustained pressure to these restricted areas.

The goal is to relieve tension, improve circulation, restore mobility, and reduce pain.

Benefits in simple terms:

Helps with stiffness, headaches, back/neck pain, post-surgical tightness, and movement restrictions.

Feels like a gentle stretch or pressure rather than aggressive massage.

Promotes healing, comfort, and independence at home.

What is Cupping Therapy?

Cupping uses specialized cups placed on the skin to create a gentle suction effect.

This suction increases blood flow, loosens tight muscles, and encourages the body’s natural healing process.

It can be performed with static cups (left in place) or dynamic cupping (cups are gently moved across the skin).

Benefits in simple terms:

Helps reduce muscle tension, inflammation, and chronic pain.

Can improve mobility and decrease stiffness in areas like the back, shoulders, and legs.

Often described by patients as a deep tissue stretch without excessive pressure.
